Spurs Marches On!

Last night, Penguin's manager, Cyen brought his entire team to England to watch how true professionals play their football. Once again, he brought the team to London to watch Tottenham Hotspurs against Barclays Premier League leaders, Liverpool. All the penguins stars were present, including Morabito, Tristan, Finley and new boy, Antonio Brighi. Brighi unveiled as the new 2nd choice keeper for the Penguins earlier this afternoon was also present last night. The manager made a reservation for VIP seats behind the enigmatic and bald headed, Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy. Michael Owen was present too and none of the Penguin's players were interested in getting an autograph from this England reject.

The game started out quick for Liverpool as they pulled one goal up after a defensive mishap from Spurs. Dirk Kuyt was the one that got himself in the score sheet after Robbie Keane capitalized on a obviously confused Spurs defense. In the Spurs half, the Spurs offensive was awfully blunt as the only chance came from Croatian, Luka Modric.

In the second half, Harry "Houdini" Redknapp brought in Pavlyuchenko and Hutton to change the Spurs pace and it helped. The Lily Whites forced an own goal from Jamie Carragher and it was leveled. Gerrard had a few attempts which met the posts and it was clearly not Liverpool's night. Later on, Ryan Babel was brought in for Liverpool whilst Lennon came in for Spurs. Babel couldn't do much for the Reds as they missed chance after chance. On the other hand, Spurs kept fighting from attempts from almost everyone in the team. Lennon made an impact by making a couple of menacing runs trying to undo the Liverpool defense. And in the end, in injury time, Spurs advanced into what seem like a last chance of the game, Lennon came from the wing, nodded it on to Bentley. Bentley fought of challenges from a few Liverpool players and managed to pull the trigger. He almost caught Reina out from his spot but the short Liverpool keeper managed to pull off a wonderful safe but he all he could do was tip the ball away which ended up on Bent's foot. Bent reacted quickly and almost instantly putting the ball back into the penalty box. Pavlyuchenko was first to the ball and he made a simple tap in. The Spurs fans erupted and there was only a few minutes left on the clock.

Finally the whistle went and Spurs bagged another 3 points which sees them off the bottom of the league. The Penguin's manager was pleased with how Spurs had played and he was all praise for the entire team. Some of the Penguin's players were in awe as they witnessed true teamwork and determination. Midfielder Nico Kormaris commented, "They were absolutely brilliant, I wish to emulate Bentley because he is such an inspiring figure in the team." Striker Ermanno Morabito commented too, "Bent and Pavlyuchenko were absolutely awesome. They were tough in front and was always comfortable in front. They are such a great strikers!"

The manager also had a few words, "Today i brought the team here so that they can learn a bit from how the big boys play. I am not referring to Liverpool of course. I would not want either Matthews or Brighi to follow Reina and i definitely would not want any of my defenders to do a Carragher. Instead i really hope they can emulate some of the Spurs players. I've always looked up to the team and always followed their progress, whether if they are bottom of top. Thats what being a true fan is all about. I hope my players learned something today."

Manager Reflects

Manager Cyen finally released a comment on the team's performance against Japanese side Capricorn, "I am not pleased with the team's performance tonight, i will not hide this but their performance are really below my expectations."

Orlando Parker and Jermaine Finley could only sit at the bench and watch their team suffer their 2nd defeat of the season. Parker commented, "I cannot believe we let go of another 3 points. If we are going to challenge for the top prize we cant keep letting points like this go." Jermaine Finley added, "Its definitely a hard pill to swallow. A defeat at home is never a good thing but we have always had our better days away from home. Its weird but thats how the team rolls but this doesn't mean its okay to keep losing. Me and Orlando will be back in no time and once we are back we are not letting anything pass us."

Lockdown

After the disappointing game at the Frozen Dome, manager of the Gangsta Penguins kept the team locked up at the locker room for at least an hour before letting them head home. The disappointment was clear as they let their chances slip pass. Being the more dominant side for the whole game, they still manage to lose to league new comers, Capricorn. Orlando Parker and Jermaine Finley's absence was very obvious as Cervantes and Lisboa could do very little to resist the offensive front of Capricorn.

The manager refused to comment on the team's horrible display after the game but we managed to get hold of stand in captain, Darrel Blackmore and ask about the game, "It was horrible, our strikers could not capitalize in the home ground advantage we have and our defense was too shaky. Jody Matthews also had trouble at the back too but i am confident the manager will turn things around for us. He did it last season so i am confident he has the capabilities to do it again. I just hope the fans will be patient and keep supporting the team."

LD to the Dome?

There has been rumors going on about the team going after a new striker after team legend, Dakota Neely has voiced his wish to retire soon. Dakota has been a iconic figure in the Penguin's side and has always been a great role model to the younger players such as Ermanno Morabito and Yoann Esposito. But who could fill the void Neely will leave behind?

There has been rumors about a player coming to the team and club officials has only revealed to the media that he is related to LA Galaxy star forward, Landon Donovan. We could not find out who would be related to this wonderful and gifted forward. Whoever it is, the move should happen in the next 24 hours. All we can do now is cross our fingers and hope for this striker to come to the Dome.

Team News

Today is game night and teams prepare themselves physically and mentally to face each other. The Gangsta Penguins have also done their preparations before facing league newcomers Capricorn but there are problems deciding the line up for the game tonight. It is a real tough task to decide for the team sheet explains the Penguin's boss, Cyen. "We lost Jermaine to injury and that is a huge blow to the team and we thought that Orlando would be fit again to play tonight but i don't see that happening tonight."

Picking the right pair for their team's offensive would be a problem also for the manager, "Both Santa Cruz and Esposito are on good form and Morabito has been a regular for so many games, I really have no idea who i am going to drop for the game." In the midfield department, once used to be injury stricken now is filled with a group of eager and good formed players. Sebastian Messi has yet to touch the ball yet this season. After being by injury for most of the season last season, Messi is dying to get back onto the field once more and fight for a place in the team but the arrival of Tito Tristan has not helped his situation at all. Manager Cyen commented, "I am well aware that Messi is back and he has already joined up with the rest of the team for training and his progress has been great. I might field him tonight but it is still very hard for me to make these decisions."

We have managed to come up with a possible line up the manager might use :

GK - Jody Matthews
DF - Ryan Holcomb, Darrel Blackmore, Robert Cervantes, Orlando Parker
MF - Wes Callahan, Nico Kormaris, Tito Tristan, Russell Canham
CF - Yoann Esposito, Ermanno Morabito
Subs - Sebi Samoila, Ezequiel Lisboa, Sebastian Messi, Aaron Lampard, Sergei Santa Cruz

Harald Leaves

The Gangsta Penguins have released ex-captain Harald Rosenkrantz after a slow start to his Penguin's career. Club officials commented, "Harald has been with the team when we were at the bottom and also when we were at the top but now the time has come for us to part and we wish Harry all the best."

Harald Rosenkrantz started 8 times for the Penguins and was their standing captain before current captain Jermaine Finley was elected. He came in to replace ex-captain Aiden Ferarro in the middle of last season. Failing to spark the Penguins midfield was also the reason for his departure. His departure also paths the way for new midfielders to come in. There has been news of a new teen that has been making a lot of headlines for the Penguins reserves. More on that soon.

Ecstatic

The manager of the Gangsta Penguins flew to England last night to watch the derby game between London giants, Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal FC. Being a loyal Spurs fan for many years now, the 18 year old manager prodigy wore the proud white jersey of Spurs at the VIP box at the Emirates Stadium. Captain Jermaine Finley and midfielder Russell Canham also attended the game with the manager. We managed to get an interview from the manager in London last night.

After an 8 goal thriller at the Emirates, manager Cyen was clearly lost for words after the game. He commented, "I really hoped Pavlyuchenko who have done more for the team but this is a team game, so overall the team was just amazing. Its never over until the final whistle is blown, thats what i have learned from today."
Bentley getting a clean strike to put Spurs a goal up

We also asked him to comment on Bentley's opening goal, "Its just brilliant. Its beautifully struck and you can only expect the best from someone like him. You have to see it to believe it, it is really one of the best i've seen. Jenas's goal was also top quality, its not easy to curve the ball like that. Its just amazing." He later jokingly added, "I would do anything to have a Bentley in my team. True genius!"

Spurs now are bottom in the league but a revival is imminent and with Harry "Houdini" Redknapp at the helm of the club, its not impossible. The Gangsta Penguins manager is fully backing Redknapp to deliver this season. "Harry is a great manager, no doubt. We will be having a game with Liverpool coming up and I'm looking up to that. In Harry we trust! Come on you Spurs!"

The Penguins will play Capricorn this Friday, the Japs have been on fine form with 2 wins in 3 games now and how will the Penguins fair against them? Manager Cyen commented, "Yvain is a friend of mine and a Tottenham fan as well. He supports Spurs and I'm glad to play against him this Friday, no matter what the result is, its an honor to be in the same field as him."

Inevitable Departure

After negotiating terms with a club from Europe, the deal for Taylor Gray has finally been completed. The deal costs the European club an estimated 4 million econs. This means the previous sales record of Jonathan Fuentes has been broken. In fact, this sales record is even the highest in the X league. Fans of the Gangsta Penguins were glad Taylor Gray had moved on and also for the amount of money the club got from this high profile youngster.

The manager refused to comment on this subject because he wanted to focus more on the game tonight. Extra practice sessions were held today to get the players ready. Later on the Penguins Official website reported managed to get hold of Penguin's captain, Jermaine Finley. "Taylor is a talented player but all of the 3 games he played as a penguin, he failed to bring any impact to the game. We are a team chasing for our dreams, so we cannot afford slip-ups. If one isn't good enough, then he should be sacked. That is why me and the rest of the team never ever miss a training session with the boss. We know how strict he is, so missing a training session would mean a ticket out from the club."

Taylor Gray got promoted from the Gangsta Penguin's youth setup and was touted to be an American international in a couple of years. Despite all the good reviews, he failed to secure a spot in the Penguin's line up. He was the 6th choice striker in the team. With the 4 million gained from the sales, this might give the Penguin's a chance to sign another player. There has been news of a new midfielder inching closer to a move to the Igloo.

Esposito a Penguin!

Italian, Yoann Esposito has finally put pen to paper on a lucrative 4 year contract with the Gangsta Penguins. Yoann's transfer was very much anticipated by most Penguin fans because the Penguin's attacking options have been rather lacking for the past few months. The arrival of Esposito also spells the end for the long serving striker, Christian Barr. Barr left the club this morning after being told that his services are no longer needed. The club wished him all the best and hope that he would succeed in other clubs in the future.
Yoann Esposito playing for the Azurri U-21

Yoann Esposito who played in the Serie C1/B, 6th for Pescara Calcio before signing for the Penguins yesterday has been a media attraction back in the Azurri. He has been making the headlines for all the right reasons and that has attracted the likes of many top class teams like Tottenham Hotspurs, Roma and Villareal. Before the Penguins entered the race to sign this prominent talent, Roma seemed the likely destination for Esposito because, Mauro Esposito, brother of Yoann had a short spell there before but manager Cyen was not going to give up on this opportunity.

The manager flew down to Italy personally to meet up with the player and negotiate the terms. The manager commented, "Someone like Esposito comes once in a life time. He is young but he is eager to learn. He's got plenty of special attributes and he has the word world class written all over him. So now we have 4 first team strikers, Sergei, Yoann, Ermanno and Dakota. This would probably where i stop signing strikers."

The Penguins Official Website even got a chance to interview the new striker, "I'm happy to have signed with this promising team. Last season we finished 4th but now that i am here, i intend to bring this team to the pinnacle of the league. The reason i joined the Penguins is not because of money but it is because of the manager. He is a very determined man and this can be seen when he personally flew to Italy to meet up with me. Besides, my brother Mauro advised me to join the Penguins."

The Penguins will play The Pinks next away and this might prove to be quite a challenge for the American side. With a weak midfield and an inexperienced strike force, the Penguins are going to struggle. Some fans are showing how they feel after the signing of Yoann. A fan quoted, "We want experienced players! Not another inexperienced one! If we don't get experience into the team, we are going to struggle."

Manager Cyen then held a press conference to reassure the fans, "I think i know what i am doing. Lets look back at the ForeVer United game, their midfield is clearly much more skillful compared to my side. With the likes of Zarza and Etxabe, the only Penguins player that could match up to them is Wes (Callahan) but we still manage to pull through. My policy of using young players will not change and i will prove to everyone that it will work."

Transfer Rumours continue

Earlier today, there has been news of a possible transfer of midfielder, Conor Parker but this has been rather untrue when manager Cyen was interviewed again about the matter, "Conor is just one of the many players we are looking at. Its true that we have been looking at a lot of midfielders but there just isn't anyone that fills the criteria required to be a Penguin. "

When asked about the possibility of a transfer by this week, manager Cyen nods, "There is, currently we are looking at a player. What position you ask? Well, why should i make your job easy. You're a reporter aren't you? Go find out yourself."

There has been sightings of Penguin scouts at the capital of Spain yesterday. The scouts were visiting small clubs and watching games. Could this mean the Penguin's next buy would come from Spain?

Parker In Our Sights!

We have launched a bid for a wonderful young midfielder to bolster our attacking options. Conor Parker, 24 is an offensive minded midfielder and always has an eye for goal. He can play all across the midfield as he can use both his feet. Manager Cyen was interviewed in a special Penguins Q&A sessions, "Conor is a good player and if we do get him, i am sure we can score more goals. But we are not putting our hopes up because we are the first bidder for him and if a better offer is given, he will definitely not pick us. I will do my best to bring this talent to our squad."

Taylor Gray was the next agenda in the Q&A session, "Gray is a good player but not great and he will be leaving us this Friday. With the money we get from his sale, we might use it to bring in Conor."

In Cruz Control

The Gangsta Penguins secured 3 points for the opening game of the new campaign. Manager Yen Chuah is just ecstatic when the final whistle was blown and he applauded his players. "At least I know now that the new training methods i used are working but of course i'll have to give credit to my players for not giving up and scoring more than one goal in a game."

Debutant Sergei Santa Cruz was in the scoresheet twice and has already got the fans chanting his name for almost the full 90 minutes. Dakota Neely was benched to make way for Sergei Santa Cruz and this gamble has proven to have worked. Neely was then interviewed about facing the drop, "It's okay that i wasn't starting just as long as we get the 3 points. Sergei is just 24 and has a lot to learn and so has Ermanno who is 21. Both of them like to hang with me during trainings and if they are doing well in matches that only means i must be doing something right. Haha!"
Sergei Santa Cruz (Penguins) battles the ball from Rafael Lopetegui (ForeVer United)

With this win, the Penguins now move to second, one place above champions Vadern Helsinki. In other news, there has been a few more offers from clubs for striker Taylor Gray today. His departure seems inevitable now as he didn't even made into the benches for the ForeVer United game. Sources has also reported that the Penguins are enquiring for a midfielder.

Penguins Record Broken

Today, the Gangsta Penguins have confirmed their first signing of the season. Sergei Santa Cruz, a Russian international joins the Penguins after spending 3 years in Russia with Rotor Volgograd. The transfer should cost the Penguins around 2.5 million econs, an amount that shatters previous transfer record holder Darrel Blackmore's 600k econs move a month back. Manager Yen Chuah was present to unveil the new striker at the Penguins Igloo this morning. He commented on the transfer, "We are proud to have signed Sergei. We have been watching him for at least a month already. Before the season ended last year, we already had out scouts all over Europe and he is just one of the many i was looking at. His height and aerial ability will proof useful to bolster our attack. We have been having difficulties finding the net last season so with the acquisition of Sergei, I hope there will be more goals this season."Sergei Santa Cruz is also a long distant relative of Blackburn Rovers star forward Roque Santa Cruz. Roque plays in a bigger stage but Sergei hopes to emulate his cousin's achievements one day, "Roque has always been the pride of the Santa Cruz family but by leaving Russia and coming to America, i know i'll make a name for myself here. If Roque can do it, why not me? I'm hungry for goals and i really hope i can play as soon as possible."

Reporters then asked Sergei about his knowledge about the Gangsta Penguins, "I know a lot about them. The X league has been grabbing the headlines of newspapers everywhere. In Russia i always read about the Penguins. I am also well aware of the presence of many strong clubs such as the Broke Brothas, ForeVer United and Vadern Helsinki. I'm also proud to be training alongside many great players like Orlando Parker, Jermaine Finley and Dakota Neely. I believe i will learn a lot from Dakota."

The next question was who inspired Sergei to move across the ocean to America, "Definitely my idol, Roman Pavlyuchenko. He made his move to Tottenham Hotspurs recently so i thought i should do the same. I like Roman for his tenacity and his eye for goal in every game. Me and Roman, we are the similar type of players."

Tonight, the Penguins play ForeVer United at the Igloo. Manager Cyen hopes for a good start but will be contented with a draw, "If we get a win, thats great. But its a bit too early to determine who will win the league, so i think a good draw should be a great start for us. Messi is still out from the squad so our attack is a bit blunt but i believe the lads can still get a goal or two tonight."Sergei Santa Cruz at the press conference

New Takeover - Ravens no more

Today Raven's players attended their first training and were surprised to see a things being changed so drastically. It has been made official, that the Ravens has been taken over by a new owner as the former owner, who refused to be named has stepped down after facing financial difficulties. He commented, "We had our fair share of problems and is unable to generate funds for the manager to improve the squad. He was only able to buy young talent at low prices which was proven not good enough to challenge for the league. I have been a Ravens fan all my life but if it means helping the team push for the top 3 then i will step down."

This means the end of another era of the Ravens. New owners, billionaires from the Galapagos Islands, who also wished to be unnamed for the time being. He runs a penguin reserve back in the Islands and has earned billions from it. After weeks of interest with the clubs, he has finally agreed to buy the club. "I am happy to be the new chairman of such a great club. I have a lot of love for penguins back in Galapagos Islands. I think they are wondrous creatures. Another reason why i bought this club is to spread penguin information to everyone. Everyone should love penguins like i do. Therefore i will be naming this club Penguins!"

But the name was not very American-ish. So club officials have held a meeting with the new owner to discuss the new name. They have finally agreed on a mix of American and Galapagos Island cultures. The new team name is confirmed to be "Gangsta Penguins".

Club official later annouced the new name on a press conference, "We are proud to announce that the Ravens are no more and we have changed to the Gangsta Penguins. In America, being a "Gangsta" is pretty much in everyone. This shows the more rugged and stronger side of our team whereas the penguins show the more softer and cuddly part of the team."

Players of the team are excited with the new name, Orlando Parker commented, "I am so proud to be a Penguin. I remember when i was a little kid, i use to pretend being a penguin. Now i dont have to pretend anymore."

Annual Ravens Awards

Finally, the season ends and it has come to the ARAs (Annual Ravens Awards). With host, ex Raven's star, Jonathan Fuentes at the Ravens stadium, The River Court, there are a number of prestigious awards given out to the players for their great achievements this season. Ravens legends, Lucas Scott, Dan Scott and ex-coach Whitey Durham was also present during the event.

There are a few awards that were given out during the event, but the most prestigious award was of course the Fans Club Player of the Year. The first award is the "Best Defensive Player" award. This award includes the keeper too. The winner of the award was none other than Raven's center half, Orlando Parker. Jermaine Finley came close to winning the award too but Parker's determination, aggression and commitment levels were always high through out the season. Parker also scored a goal, assisted and made into the X11 team 5 teams this season.

The next award is the "Best Midfielder" award. This award was awarded to none other than club diva, Wes Callahan. Wes was the only midfielder to find the net this season. He then gave a speech after being presented by the award, "It was kinda obvious. No one deserves it more than me. Its just a pity i couldn't get anything in league level but i know we are gonna make it next season."

The next award is the "Best Striker" award. Ermanno Morabito won this award with a 2 goal per game record for The Ravens, a feat which was almost achieved by club veteran, Dakota Neely. Ermanno Morabito also won the "Best Newcomer" award. Next on is the "Talent of the Year" award, which is the second most prestigious award. This award was presented to defender, Ryan Holcomb. Coming up from the youth academy, Holcomb pushed his way into the line up early in the season and was a permanent til the last game of the season. He is a crowd favorite and has also made it into the X11 team 3 times and made 2 assists.

Finally, the final award, "Fans Club Player of the Year" was presented. Dakota Neely was the winner last season before the club joined the X league. This year, Neely was not as consistent as he was a year ago. This year he was shadowed by a new striker in the club, a boy from Florence, Italy. He is none other than number 20, Ermanno Morabito. In fact, Dakota Neely was third place in this award as Orlando Parker took 2nd place.

Holidays

The Raven's season has finally ended and training sessions has also stopped as players are allowed to take a day or 2 off before training resumes. We manage to catch up with the Raven's manager and captain earlier at the Raven's training center.

The Manager said, "It has been a great season for us. We have been to the top and also to the bottom. We have lost, won and also drawn matches and in the end we are 4th. Its not a bad position and the most important thing is that we have confidence in the boys now. In the last 5 games or so, we have only lost once and one draw. This will be great for them when the new season starts. I've also heard that there will be a new addition to the league soon. i can't wait to welcome the new manager if he does join."

Captain of the Ravens, Harald Rosenkrantz commented, "I've been in this team for almost a month now and i've grown really attached with the fellas in the squad. I hope i will still be given the honor to lead the boys out the field every game next season. Nikolas Kormaris filled in for me last night. I was out with a cold and wasn't able to start. He did well and i also hope he will stay with us for the next season."

The Last Flight

Tonight will be the closing match of the first X league where The Ravens will be playing African side, Broke Brothas. Last the two meet, American side, Ravens took all 3 points after Dakota Neely found the net 3 times. This match will be a different ball game after so many games, Broke Brothas are in a top form whereas the Ravens have a few new faces in the team line up tonight.

Striker, Ermanno Morabito was interviewed hours ago at the Ravens training grounds, he said, "This is the first time playing against the Broke Brothas and i can't wait! I've got 4 goals this season and i hope to end the season with maybe a couple more if its possible. I can always count on my teammates to help me get those goals."

It is also announced that The Ravens will be playing their last game tonight because when the season finally ends, the Ravens current chairman will be stepping down as there has been talks about a take over. This will be the Raven's last flight.

We manage to get a few words from the manager on this subject, "Its been a great season for the club. We've unearthed so many new talents and i am proud of every single one of them. I will be staying with the club and so are the players. I'm just curious of who the new owners will be. Well, whoever it is, i hope i'll be able to work with him."

News has it that, if the Ravens really do get a new owner, The Ravens will be no more and a new team name will be needed.

Raven's Wings Clipped

Last night, The Ravens had their wings clipped and it seems like their ascend to the summit of the league has halted. The Titanium Teabags took advantage of a weak and disorganized Ravens team on the second half.

Reporters managed to catch up with the manager to get a few words, "I've told the team countless times, to never leak in so many goals. I am angered by the fact that they conceded 2 goals in less than 5 minutes. It is just unacceptable. We had our chances too, but we just didn't take it. I wouldn't blame the team because we have a fairly young team compared to the Teabags."

"I am also really disappointed with Christian(Barr). I put my faith in him for this game and he didn't do enough to repay my trust. He had a couple of chances and was not able to convert it. Maybe its my mistake to have left Neely out from this game."

When asked about the future, the manager had this to say, "I see a bright future for the lads. We have 2 more games, against Gloface and the Broke Brothas. I just hope we can pull through and get at least 3 points from the 2 games."
