Spurs Marches On!

Last night, Penguin's manager, Cyen brought his entire team to England to watch how true professionals play their football. Once again, he brought the team to London to watch Tottenham Hotspurs against Barclays Premier League leaders, Liverpool. All the penguins stars were present, including Morabito, Tristan, Finley and new boy, Antonio Brighi. Brighi unveiled as the new 2nd choice keeper for the Penguins earlier this afternoon was also present last night. The manager made a reservation for VIP seats behind the enigmatic and bald headed, Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy. Michael Owen was present too and none of the Penguin's players were interested in getting an autograph from this England reject.

The game started out quick for Liverpool as they pulled one goal up after a defensive mishap from Spurs. Dirk Kuyt was the one that got himself in the score sheet after Robbie Keane capitalized on a obviously confused Spurs defense. In the Spurs half, the Spurs offensive was awfully blunt as the only chance came from Croatian, Luka Modric.

In the second half, Harry "Houdini" Redknapp brought in Pavlyuchenko and Hutton to change the Spurs pace and it helped. The Lily Whites forced an own goal from Jamie Carragher and it was leveled. Gerrard had a few attempts which met the posts and it was clearly not Liverpool's night. Later on, Ryan Babel was brought in for Liverpool whilst Lennon came in for Spurs. Babel couldn't do much for the Reds as they missed chance after chance. On the other hand, Spurs kept fighting from attempts from almost everyone in the team. Lennon made an impact by making a couple of menacing runs trying to undo the Liverpool defense. And in the end, in injury time, Spurs advanced into what seem like a last chance of the game, Lennon came from the wing, nodded it on to Bentley. Bentley fought of challenges from a few Liverpool players and managed to pull the trigger. He almost caught Reina out from his spot but the short Liverpool keeper managed to pull off a wonderful safe but he all he could do was tip the ball away which ended up on Bent's foot. Bent reacted quickly and almost instantly putting the ball back into the penalty box. Pavlyuchenko was first to the ball and he made a simple tap in. The Spurs fans erupted and there was only a few minutes left on the clock.

Finally the whistle went and Spurs bagged another 3 points which sees them off the bottom of the league. The Penguin's manager was pleased with how Spurs had played and he was all praise for the entire team. Some of the Penguin's players were in awe as they witnessed true teamwork and determination. Midfielder Nico Kormaris commented, "They were absolutely brilliant, I wish to emulate Bentley because he is such an inspiring figure in the team." Striker Ermanno Morabito commented too, "Bent and Pavlyuchenko were absolutely awesome. They were tough in front and was always comfortable in front. They are such a great strikers!"

The manager also had a few words, "Today i brought the team here so that they can learn a bit from how the big boys play. I am not referring to Liverpool of course. I would not want either Matthews or Brighi to follow Reina and i definitely would not want any of my defenders to do a Carragher. Instead i really hope they can emulate some of the Spurs players. I've always looked up to the team and always followed their progress, whether if they are bottom of top. Thats what being a true fan is all about. I hope my players learned something today."
